Domaine Labet Cotes du Jura Savagnin Elevage Long En Chalasse 2018 Old Rioja and from Sarmassa's sun-soakedSavagnin is the Jura's great native white grape, and this is Domaine Labet's En Chalasse parcel given an extended aging (elevage long). The fruit comes off old vines, farmed organically, and the long time in barrel builds serious texture and depth while keeping the wine fresh rather than overtly oxidative. Bigger and bolder than Labet's Chardonnays, it shows ripe fruit, savory complexity, and a saline cut. This is mature now and drinking in a lovely
