Alabama was coming off a Sweet 16 appearance and added HS All American James Robinson and JUCO standout Latrell Sprewell for the '90 91 campaign. Led by a combination of Robison, Melvin Cheatum and Robert Horry the Tide finished the regular season 18 9 before winning the SEC Tournament by beating Florida, Auburn and Tennessee.
