It's the name of a spiny leaved plant first discovered in ancient Greece and also the name of this pretty dishware pattern made by J & G Meakin in England just before the turn of the 20th century. Made in the 1890s in the bustling pottery hub of Stoke on Trent, England, these five butter pats feature a navy blue floral rim with a center medallion that contains dots and flourishes, and little sprout like emblems. Rare pieces in a
