and I might guess she dates from the 30s or 40s

I'll never pass by an antique Burmese lacquer betel box if I can afford it--which increasingly I can't

but I really love speculating about it

Battered but Great Pair of Animal Drawings John wayne 4 3/4" tall x 2There were found in an old box along with the flock of animal cutouts I just listed, and I assume by the same maker, sadly deeply creased on the diagonal, but so sweet I think well worth salvaging. The little white bear walking on hind legs in the top corner of the one at right especially kills me! Pencil and watercolor on lined paper. 5" x 7 7 8" each. Sold as a pair.
