I have a theory that this very fine handmade needle lace medallion was created by an Eduord Marie Verpooten (Edy Verporte)

It's rare I come across a painting of flamingoes in these parts

and am always impressed by the labor and patience embodied in creations made of matchsticks

both with soft stuffing inside

but I might bet it was made by the same person

Love at first sight, found in PA, with a bit of a feline aspect but I do believe a dog. (Best of both worlds!) 6" l x 3 7 8" t x 2 1 8" w, very good condition. 1920s 40s or so I would guess.
