The discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings in 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter (1874-1939) was one of the most astounding discoveries in archaeology
one of which was observed here
which greatly reduced the pollution of the Thames and dramatically improved the public health of the city
