I believe it is about half scale of the actual bird--4 5/8" from tip of beak to tip off tail feathers

with thin black bands near the lip of the lid and near the top and bottom of the body

TOTAL delight finding this one near Albany this week

It is equally great from front or back

Though way beyond being useful

And indeed the antique punch paper embroidery one most commonly sees declares "God Bless Our Home."
