There is a small split in the wood on the top of the box toward the very back left side but it is in overall very good condition

it seems that it might be pyrography

Allamakee Pottery Wood Fired Pottery Small Vase folio 25ʺD × 6ʺH and isThis little vase reminds me of a tree trunk, and I really like the three little buttons near the lip. I believe it was made by Allamakee Pottery in New Albin, Iowa, operated by Hallie and Nate Evans, who established the studio in 2000 and make functional wood fired pottery. I think especially nice in the winter months with a few little branches of berries, or the first buds of spring. 5 7 8" tall; 1 3 8" across at opening and 3 3 4" across at base.
