I find it really hard to pass by little carved wooden objects

made in 1939--a few years after Rogers died unexpectedly in a plane crash

I've divided them into a few pairs

with a pontil visible on the bottom

It looks one part Native American, one part Buddhist mandala and one part Fraktur watercolor to me so of course I love it! Great warm dry wood patina to the the box, too, I believe pine, with brass hinges that are in good shape. 8 5 16" x 6" x 1 3 8" and in good condition.
