especially where the lines of one section cross over top of the section that frames her face

making me think it bore witness to at least one painting of the house or barn or garage near which it was perched

Very Sweet Old Split Personality White Folk Art Horse with Horsehair Tail handmade antique lace I believe this whimsySo many sorts of old folk art creatures I can't resist, horses most definitely among them, white ones especially (coming to the rescue!), and all the better with a horsehair tail. I especially love the shape of the head on this one, with ears surely having gotten a bit more rounded over the years, and I love it for having a bit of a split personality too, with dark mane showing on one side, but not the other, and one eye a dash and the other a dot.
