These wonderful drawings of horses (one on each side) remind me so much of Native American ledger drawings (which are some of my favorite things in the world)

with one tiny nick along the edge of one hook

I believe likely with stuffed cloth legs and booted feet as well

The paper has darkened some with age

one for the blade--it is structurally sound and ready to put to use opening the bills

A few of them are signed and dated at bottom, others initialed on back (the smaller of these two is initialed C. A. S), so they represent the work of a few different people, most likely young women, among whom seaweed collecting and pressing was quite the thing during the Victorian era.
