The curled piece attached by rivet to the bottom left of the hanging rack is a tiny bit loose

Both approx 4 1/2" long

The brush measures 11 7/8" long with a diameter of 2 1/2"

I believe it likely dates to the mid 19th century or so, and features a full head of pale bristles peppered with a few black ones, which I think perfectly complements the handle. Really lovely.
