with a FDND (Friends of New Germany/Freunde Des Neue Deutschland) insignia pinned in place on the right side

The order was established under the protection (patronage) of Saint Contardo of Este

but displaying the typical manufacturing characteristics of Gebrüder Wegerhoff manufacture

(1939 1945 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Geneva Cross, the obverse with white enameled arms, bearing a central black enameled German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with details highlighted in gilt, unmarked, measuring 39. 98 mm (w) x 44. 84 mm
