Prussia, State. A Life Saving Medal Hold two of the Gold Grade(Rettungsmedaillen). Instituted on 1 February 1833. Type III. (1875 1907 Issue). A circular silver medal, the obverse centre presents the head of King Friedrich Wilhelm III in relief facing left, circumscribed FRIEDRICH WILHELM III KNIG VON PREUSSEN, the reverse inscribed FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER) within an oak leaf wreath, measuring 24. 96 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near very fine
