Constructed of a bronzed tombac, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised RAD insignia in the form of a mobile swastika within wheat stalks, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST (FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH
