Austria, Empire. A Military Merit Medal "Signum Laudis", Ii Class Bronze Grade Hold (Ordenschnallen)(Militr Verdienstmedaille ("Signum Laudis")). Instituted in 1890. In bronze gilt, measuring 30. 7 mm (w) x 50. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, edge nicks, contact marks, original triangular civil ribbon with hook and eye, very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, red thatched exterior, marked "Bronzene Militr Verdienst medaille" (Bronze Military Merit Medal) in faded gold coloured ink on the lid, inside lid in white satin and marker
