Mid-Century Ceramic Candleholders by Marianne Suda brustalist composed of interlocking solid copperThese geometrically patterned candleholders, c. mid 1960s, are a great example of the work of Marianne Suda, a ceramic artist born in Vienna, Austria in 1928, who Immigrated to Canada in 1954 and was based in Quebec. Suda was strongly influenced by both Danish Modern pottery and native Canadian art influences which I think wonderfully merge in these earthy and strikingly graphic hand formed candleholders.
